David is delighted to have been selected to fight the seat of Bury St Edmunds at the next General Election.
The 2007 May Council results showed the Liberal Democrats in a strong second place with 12,720 votes compared to Labour on 4,782 votes and the Tories on 23,666.

I helped out today at the South Suffolk Show where the Millenium Farm Trust won first prize for the quality of the their stand at the show. Here the prize is presented by Mayor Margaret Charlesworth. I am on the committee of the Millenium Farm Trust www.m-f-t.org.uk. This charity raises money to help people with learning disabilities gain work, and work experience on farms.

At the Council Meeting on 8th April David Chappell called on the Council to set up a small 'ring fenced fund' to promote savings on energy costs that would both save the Council money and reduce our carbon footprint.
